In the Department of Linguistics I teach courses for both undergraduate and graduate students, including morphology, phonetics & phonology, and a course on Old Church Slavic as an introduction to historical Slavic linguistics. For Germanic & Slavic Studies I teach Russian language courses at all levels (most often, Intermediate Russian I and II and advanced courses on special topics) and courses on Slavic culture and identity.

LING 8120. Morphology.

The linguistic study of word structure and how this relates to other components of the grammar of a language (phonology, syntax, semantics). Theoretical issues and problems in the study of morphology will be discussed in connection with the analysis of data from a wide variety of languages.

Spring 2021

LING (SLAV) 4905/6905. Old Church Slavic

An introduction to Old Church Slavic, the earliest written Slavic language. The grammar of Old Church Slavic, reading and translation of texts, and the prehistory of the Slavic language family.
