Aug 21: My Monday office hour is changed to 2:00-3:00 pm. for the remainder of the semester.
Oct 6: Office hours on Fri Oct 9 and Mon Oct 12 are cancelled.
Nov. 8: Asst. 12 has been modified: Problems 4.1.12 and 4.1.14a are postponed until next week.
Nov. 8: Test 2 (Nov. 11) covers through the portion of Sec. 4.1 involving homomorphisms and ideals, but not quotient rings.
Nov. 15: Office hour Mon. Nov. 16 moved to 1:30-2:30.

Homework is due at 4:00 pm on the date listed, unless stated otherwise. (Advanced problems are normally due one week later. Please hand in advanced problems separately from core problems.) I prefer homework stapled in the upper left corner and not folded. Your write-ups must be your own work.
