Education

I received my Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Georgia in 2012. My research area is geometry. As an undergraduate, I double-majored in Mathematics and Psychology (Union University, 2005).

Courses

This semester I am teaching two sections each of MATH 2500 (Multivariable Calculus) and MATH 5001 (Math for Elementary Teachers). I have taught several other courses at UGA, including MATH 1113 (Precalculus), MATH 3200 (Intro to Higher Mathematics), MATH 1060 (Mathematics for Decision Making), and MATH 2250 (Calculus I for Science and Engineering).

Educational Interests

I am interested in the teaching and learning of college mathematics. While in graduate school, I completed the Graduate Certificate in Mathematics Education. Through my involvement in Project NExT (Brown '13), I continue to learn about collegiate mathematics teaching. If you are interested in college mathematics teaching, I would love to talk to you about it.

Recognition and Awards

In 2014, I was selected as an MAA Project NExT fellow. I received the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant Award from the University of Georgia in 2009.

Personal

When I'm not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, Pinterest-ing away the hours, reading, and watching cheesy sci-fi.
