The Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program facilitates partnerships between systems of correction and higher education to create educational opportunities that foster civic engagement. Inside-Out is a form of collaborative learning that invites people on both sides of prison/jail walls to take leadership in addressing crime, justice, and other issues of social concern.

Inside-Out at UGA is a partnership between the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office and the UGA Sociology Department in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences.

If you would like to discuss a partnership between your correctional facility and Inside-Out at UGA, please contact Dr. Sarah Shannon (sshannon@uga.edu, 706-542-3232).
