Welcome to Maria Pilar Chamorro Fernandez's Site
My research interests comprise temporal and aspectual reference, eventuality plurality, and quantification across typologically diverse languages. Currently, I am doing research on temporal and aspectual reference in Tentehar, a Tupi-Guarani language spoken in Northern Brazil, with the Laboratório de Línguas Indígenas at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Brazil, of which I am a member. The main objective of this organization is the revitalization, preservation, and documentation of endangered languages in Brazil. I am also working on negative polarity in Malayalam, a Dravidian language spoken in the state of Kerala, India.
